Valentines Dinner

Etiquette Dinner

By: Olivia Hansen
Our Etiquette dinner was splendid, yet delightful! In other words it was fun and creative! The boys were great gentle men. And girls were looking so fancy. It was a fun activity and the food was great! We had a great time and I hope we can do the same in the near future! Happy valentines day!

Upcoming Events

Dates  and events to be aware of:
*Monday, February 14th we will be having our Valentines Etiquette Dinner.  This will be a formal occasion so make sure your child is dressed up.
*Also, students are to make their boxes at home and bring them to school.  We have 28 students in our class.  Make sure that you don’t put names on the Valentines this will make the passing out process much easier.
*** If you want to make any donations to the Valentines Party, all we need now is money donations for the deserts.

Thank you so much for all you do to help this year be successful!

Making Electromagnets

By: Treyton Wilson
A couple of days ago we experimented on how to make an electromagnet. We got all of the materials we needed, a wire, a battery, a nail, some tape, and finally some paperclips. First we tape the two ends of the wire to the two ends of the battery. Next we coil the wire to give the electromagnet more power. Then we slide the nail through the coils and we now have an electromagnet. Now we try to see if the new electromagnet picks up any paperclips. Success!! Let's try to coil the wire more and see if it can pick up more than two. Good. Try experimenting with your new electromagnet!:)

Upcoming Valentines Party

by:Allie Parr
This week on Valentines day we the fifth grade are going to have an etiquette dinner. The boys will have to pull the chairs out for the girls and serve the dinner. The girls have to serve the desert. We are having spaghetti, corn, rolls, and desert. We have to dress in dress like clothes. We are lucky we get to do this because the years before did not get to do this. It will be held at 2:00.We are also going to do valentine treats just for our classes. We have to make valentine boxes to put our treats in. It will be so much fun!!! My classmates and I are sssssssssssssoooooooooooooooo EXCITED FOR Monday!!!!

R.A.S.K.A.L Club
Editor: Austin Mild
We are doing a new club in our school called The Random Act of Service, Kindness, And Learning Club. This is a club where you can pick up litter, help tutor, and build a green house. This seems like so much fun for some people sometimes you even get free breakfast. The R.A.S.K.A.L Club is going to help the school and help our community. The green house produce will go to the school. We will be having a meeting every first Friday of the month.
Lava Ridge!
Editor: Tyler Hardy
This Wednesday the fifth graders got to go to Lava Ridge intermediate school. I will tell what some people thought about it. I thought that it was the best time ever! I loved how the band played that on song. I liked it. I was also jealous because their lunch actually smelt like... well I don't know, just delicious! But our lunch was also. When we got there, everyone was screaming. It was  annoying.
First, we went to the band room. We listened to a awesome song that was greek or something. After, we went through the lunchroom and into the theater. In the theater, we listened to all the rules. It was boring but without those rules, we wouldn't survive the 6th grade!
We split into groups and went to the lunchroom right when they where cooking their lunch! It smelt so good. When we left to the computer lab up the stairs, I heard people saying, “Why don't we get lunch like that?!” But in the computer lab, we registered for our classes. I didn't get to go to register for about 10 minutes.
After we registered, we went to say goodbye to the Lava Ridge teachers and got back on the bus. When we left, everyone was sad. Michael said, “It was paradise. I never wanted to leave!” Some other kids were disappointed also. I will tell you what some of my classmates said also.
